If you'd like to submit new fan fiction, share your ideas here and other uses can chip in with help and support. All submissions are welcome. I can create a new page on the main site if there are enough suggestions. I am looking to fill the upcoming Doomwatch Fanzine with new content, so if you'd like you're short story included please let me know. If you are good at illustration, I'd also welcome you're input. Recently, Gallifrey Base www.gallifreybase.com users have been chipping in with their new ideas and if you would like to, feel free to replicate any information here. Cheers! Scott

In the United Kingdom socialism has bred and bred. In the last century because it was unable to reach the extreme state of other countries i.e China and Russia it is still alive. But if socialism is allowed to gestate long enough we will indeed become the Airstrip One which George Orwell warned us all of. The very principal core of socialism is flawed. Centralisation is all very well in some areas but not all. There needs to be a healthy balance between centralisation and privatisation. The state can’t pay for everything. This is what leads to deficit problems and higher interest rates. Another criticism is that of taxation. As New Labour have proven time and time again. Tax rises whilst the government continues to borrow. The people getting into debt to pay for various frivolities like benefits (£340 billion paid out by New Labour since 1997 getting more generous in 1999) and quangos that have been proven to be unnecessary. Socialism always appears as Labour has shown to be one tenth of their real agenda. You are now critiqued and hounded if you are above a certain weight or below. As if they want a “uniform” nation of people. As well as CCTV cameras everywhere and ID cards. It’s a police state they really want. Everyone monitored and tagged like cattle. Socialists believe in everyone rights. In what sane society does a burglar who is committing the act have to sue the owner of the property if they hurt them? It’s a bad joke. I believe 100% and prey we never need to use the trident nuclear weapon programme. But to disarm it would be crazy. The weapon is one of the factors that keep Britain a “big player” on the international stage. To get rid would be another step in Britain becoming a third world state.
