Hi, I like your site. I saw the 72 film once really late at night and liked it in a strange sort of way. I have seen it again since and still like it ;-) Have never seen any of the series though. Have a good one, Jim

Have a good one, Jim Thank you for your comments, if your still intrigued, Amazon have VHS and DVD's of the series (just 4 episodes in total though). Sometimes they are at a bargain price and sometimes at a premium. Cheers Scott

Thanks for the info about DVDs. I will hopefully get round to buying them. Buy the way, do you know what island the 1972 film was actually filmed on and where the street scenes were. I think the way the locals were still living in the past was a bit fanciful, but I think that's what I liked about it; the idea that a place like that could exist into the 20th century. A bit like St Kilda 40 years earlier. Cheers, Jim

It was filmed in a small fishing village in Cornwall for which, at present i have forgotten the name, I have lots of cuttings from the doomwatch series and film, as Scott knows, but they are boxed away after several housemoves over the years, I havent successfully found the box which contains the treasure yet but as soon as i do i will be giving Scott all the help and info i can.

The fictional island in the film is mentioned as Balfe. I think the real islands were Polperro and Mevagessy.

Hello Scott,
Thought I'd join and see what was going on after you contacted me. I've a few episodes of the show somewhere I got from the internet a while ago I must get around to watching these again.
Cheers,
Bill.
